On iOS 26 and later, ThoughtBox QuickCap opens a compact snippet for Type, Voice, and Paste. Camera opens the app. Action button and Back Tap need a one-time setup.
Set up ThoughtBox QuickCap
ThoughtBox QuickCap appears in Shortcuts after installation. For one-tap Paste, you can also make a Shortcut that passes Get Clipboard into its Clipboard Text field.
- Action button: Settings → Action Button → Shortcut → ThoughtBox QuickCap, or your optional clipboard Shortcut.
- Back Tap: Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap → choose a double or triple tap → ThoughtBox QuickCap, or your optional clipboard Shortcut.
CAPTURE WITHOUT THE DETOUR

On iOS 26 or later, ThoughtBox QuickCap lets you type, speak, or paste in a compact Shortcut view, then save the thought to your library. Assign it to the Action button or Back Tap on a supported iPhone.

Inspired TalkThe useful contrast in this note is between a familiar route and a different kind of attention. Leaving the headphones behind made space for details that were already there.
One possibility: the walk works because it asks for very little. You only have to notice one thing. But quiet is not always helpful; sometimes music gives a difficult morning enough structure to get outside. What would tell you this experiment is helping?
You: I do not want another habit to track. I just want to notice more.
Inspired TalkThen let the detail be the whole result. No streak, no score. If something catches your attention, save a sentence; if nothing does, let the walk remain a walk.
When a note returns later, ask whether you see it differently. The value may lie in that changed perspective, rather than in how consistently you collected anything.
Find related records, read the connections, and follow cited passages back to what you saved.
Ask your library
Your notes suggest starting with a specific detail before explaining it. The morning walk makes that possible by removing one source of input; the workshop turns the detail into a question and a small test. The reading experiment adds a useful check: return tomorrow and look for a changed decision or conversation. Together, these notes describe a cycle of noticing, questioning and revisiting. They do not establish that silence works for everyone.

A few things to know
Can I bring in my Apple Notes?
Yes. Share an individual note to Thought Box. For a folder, set up a Shortcut using Find Notes, Repeat with Each, and Save to Thought Box. The app cannot browse your Notes folders on its own.
Do I need an AI subscription or API key?
You can capture, browse, rediscover, and search locally without a key. AI features use your own supported provider's API key; that provider's usage charges apply.
Where do my records go?
Markdown records and original files use device storage and, when enabled and available, your iCloud Drive. Text recognition, local search and supported voice transcription run on-device; speech model assets may need a download. AI features send relevant text and context to your chosen provider, and cloud Read Aloud sends the text to be spoken. Provider data policies apply.
When can I try Thought Box?
Thought Box is available for iPhone and iPad on the App Store. The native Mac download is in preparation. Visit the download page for current availability.
